» A. General requirements to rent a Vehicle

At the moment of the pick up, the main driver must have : valid driver's license from his country of residence, valid ID and credit card. Sometimes cash deposit is accepted, but this option is not always available.

Dollar do not extend reservations under any circumstance, reservations are automatically cancelled after midnight of the pick up day. If necessary, it will be required a new reservations. Price and availability are subject to change.

The car model and photograph is only informative, regarding the vehicle category. Car model is subject to availability at pick up time in the office.

At the front desk, the agents would answer any question regarding the rental. If extra services - such as optional coverages - were added to the prepaid reservation, the driver will have to signed the rental agreement where the price breakdown is desplayed. Any extra item will be charged directly to customers.

Upgrades: In case customer chose a different category from the one he paid for, he would incurr in extra charges to be directly paid at the location.
» B. Rental Rates
Daily Rental rates are based on a 24-hour rental day starting at the time of rental. The minimum charge is one day, plus mileage, if applicable. The renter will be charged for each hour and/or any part of an hour in excess of a rental day, up to the applicable daily rate. If the renter fails to comply with the conditions applicable to the rate, including any geographic driving restrictions, a mileage charge, surcharge or other rates may apply.
» C. Age Requirement
Below are Dollar policies on age requirements:

The primary renter of the vehicle must be 25 years of age, or for select corporate contracts and international tour accounts, the minimum age is 21.
• 
Additional drivers must meet the same eligibility requirements as the Primary driver.
• 
All drivers must show a valid driver's license from the country of residence at time of rental.
• 
Rental rates may be higher for renters aged 21 - 24. An additional daily fee may apply in most locations.
• 
For all drivers who do not meet the age requirements.
• 
Certain specialty and larger sized vehicles may not be rented to younger drivers.
• 
Some locations maintain maximum age limits.
• 
Dollar reserves the right to refuse rental of a vehicle if the renter demonstrates inability to handle road rules and conditions.
» D. Additional Driver
All additional drivers must meet ALL rental qualifications in regard to age and driving record as well as all other standard rental qualifications.
Must appear at the rental counter with the primary renter.
Must present a valid driver's license from the country of residence.
Must sign the rental agreement.
An additional daily fee may apply for any Additional Drivers.
» E. Driver's License
An acceptable, valid driver's license issued from your country of residence must be presented at the time of rental. The driver's license must be valid for the entire rental period. If the driver's license is in a language other than English, and the rental is in the United States, an International Driver's Permit is recommended. In all cases, a valid driver's license issued from your home country must be provided, whether or not you possess an International Driver's Permit. You will not be allowed to rent a Hertz vehicle with only an International Driver's Permit.

* All locations. If they don't have a drivers license in English for pick up in the US they will need to possess a International Drivers License that accompanies it.
» F. Debit Card Usage
If the customer presents a debit card at the beginning of rental to qualify to rent, we will perform a debit card check and credit inquiry screening through Equifax Credit Information Services, Inc. This type of inquiry will screen out customers who present a greater driving risk to us, using a standard set of criteria. The credit inquiry is posted on the customer's credit report and may have an effect on the customer's credit evaluation. In the event that a customer's debit card check and credit inquiry fail to meet our debit card criteria, the customer will not be allowed to rent unless they provide a major credit card in their own name. Our debit card policy complies with all applicable U.S. federal and state laws. Debit cards are accepted for payment at the end of rental without a credit inquiry. Debit cards may not be accepted in Canada except for payment at the end of rental. Since credit requirements vary by location, please refer to the Local Policies for specific information on the acceptance and usage of debit cards where you intend to rent a DOLLAR vehicle.
The company does not accept the small credit cards issued by credit card companies that fit on a key ring. In the event that a customer presents the key ring credit card at the time of rental, the rental location may ask you to present the standard size credit card or another form of payment.
» G. "Key Ring" Credit Cards

» H. Gasoline Policy
The renter must refill the gas tank of the vehicle within a 10-mile radius of the rental return facility and present a fuel receipt to avoid a refueling charge unless the renter chooses the prepaid fuel option. If the renter chooses the prepaid fuel option, the renter will pay a specified charge as set forth in the rental agreement and have no obligation to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel. There is no credit or refund given for any fuel in the tank at the end of the rental. If the renter does not choose the prepaid fuel option and does not return the vehicle with a full tank of gas, the renter will be required to pay a fuel charge to compensate DOLLAR for the cost and service of refueling the vehicle. The fuel charge is based on the estimated number of gallons needed to refill the tank multiplied by the rate per gallon charge specified in the rental agreement. DOLLAR locations may use different methods of estimating the number of gallons needed to refill the tank and these methods of estimation necessarily rely on human judgment. Most DOLLAR locations estimate the number of gallons needed to refill the gas tank either (1) by reading the fuel gauge to estimate the approximate amount of fuel needed to refill the tank (for example, one-half tank) and multiplying that number by the manufacturer's specified fuel tank capacity, or (2) if the renter did not purchase any fuel during the rental, by reading the odometer to determine the amount of miles driven during the rental and dividing that number by the vehicle's estimated average fuel efficiency (miles per gallon) based on the manufacturer's fuel efficiency specifications. When renting in Canada, miles and gallons shall be kilometers and liters.
» I. One-way Rentals
One-way rentals within the U.S. and within Canada vary by DOLLAR location and vehicle availability. A one-way drop fee will apply.
» J. Deposit
Renters with prepaid voucher including LDW may pay the additional charges with either cash or credit card. Renters accepting LDW and paying cash may be required to leave a deposit in addition to the estimated charge which will be refunded upon return of vehicle. If the renter wishes to decline the LDW must leave a $1,500.00 deposit either in cash or credit card (some locations only rent with credit card if LDW is declined). This deposit will be refunded when returning the car providing car is returned in the same condition as time of rental .
